One of the most historical places in Tuscany is called the Piazza del Campo it is located in the middle the Siena and it’s Premier Square. The Piazza is a shell shaped symbol that means bringing together many different levels of the three hills in which the city was first founded. The Piazza is red brick and marble, the piazza was built in the XIII century and is one of the greatest medieval squares.

Inside the piazza are the Palazzo Pubblico and the Torre del Mangia. The fountain of joy is in the Piazza too. It replaced the original fountain with the statue of the Greek goddess Venus. The statue was destroyed and it was buried outside the Piazza walls.

Another is great historical city that was founded as The Etruscan hill town and was changed to be called Sena Julia. The town grew under the Lombard kings in and round the 6th century BC. The town was self government rule until the constitution was created in 1179. The city was taken over by the imperial power Ghibelline power; the Black Death plagued the city in 1348.

There are many historical cities in Tuscany, such as Florence, Sienna and Pisa. The most famous historical site is the Leaning Tower of Pisa. This is the most famous tower in the world. It is the third structure in historical Campo dei Miracoli, translation field of Miracles.

The tower’s construction began in 1173 and was constructed in three stages. The tower was designed to lean but over the years the ground began to sink causing the tower to lean at a very dangerous angle. Reconstruction had to be done to pull the tower back up again. The tower still leans but at a much safer angle.
